The Short Classics Course

The Short Classics Golf Course is a par 3 with each hole being a tribute to a famous golf hole and having a little of the features attributed to its outstanding claim to fame. While in no way being a replica of its namesake we have either tried to give an idea of the hole from the tee, or from its approach to the green. We trust you will find the course an interesting challenge.

Hole Stroke Index Bunker Shots Potts Score
1

Cardinal - 85 Yards
The Cardinal bunker at Prestwick golf course (where the first Open was) is probably the most famous bunker in the world. The sleepers can be quite intimidating.

7
2

Druids - 80 Yards
The sixth hole at this Irish course is reputed to have a leprechaun guarding against a hole in one. So far has proved nigh impossible to beat.

8
3

Road - 105 Yards
The pitch to the 17th at St Andrews (the famous road hole) has a sloping green with a deep bunker on the left which has a magnetic attraction for some and has ruined many a score, our tribute is not quite so severe but take care.

1
4

Himalayas - 85 Yards
The 12 hole course at Shiskine in Arran has a hole hidden behind a hill which can be a peril or a delight.

6
5

Montpellier - 65 Yards
Pitching to the green at the 6th hole of this lovely French course needs a delicate touch.

9
6

The Burn - 80 Yards
The 16th at Turnberry has a sloping green with a “collecting” burn at the bottom - don’t be short.

3
7

Loch Lomond - 85 Yards
The approach to the last hole at beautiful Loch Lomond can end with a tricky bunker shot or a watery grave.

5
8

Augusta - 80 Yards
This picturesque course has a lovely 16th hole over water to a well trapped green. We have eased it slightly to keep blood pressures at a reasonable level.

4
9

The Stamp - 92 Yards
Possibly the most famous golf hole in the world with countless tales of triumph and disaster (remember Gene Sarazens Ace in the open followed by a birdie from the bunker the next day) - a joy to play.
